The future belongs to the youth. This is no different in women’s football. The Belgian U16 of the Belgian Red Flames has also taken another step in the development of women’s sports. With a nice victory, too.

The U16s of the Belgian Red Flames have already achieved great results in recent weeks. And that was no different last week during the Easter holidays. The Red Flames played a nice practice match against Luxembourg.

Strong performance from Flames U16

Ultimately, that team never turned out to be a real opponent for the young Belgian girls. They quickly took a 0-1 and 0-2 lead via Jolien Verhoeven from KV Mechelen. Ilana Bodson from Anderlecht also scored.

Thanks to Jinthe Schepers van Hoogstraten it even became 0-4. A big boost for the Red Flames U16, who are doing such an ultimate thing towards the new season. After the summer they will start their first real qualifying campaign.

0-4 win against Luxembourg

Then the practice matches are over and they try to go to the European Championships and who knows, maybe one day, a World Cup via the U17 series. And in the meantime, it is important to continue developing and improving in the coming years.

The end goal – like for everyone – is to one day make it to the Red Flames. The A-team then, although that will not be for the first few years. We are curious whether we will see one of the young Flames working for the women in a few years.
