Entrepreneur Niek Beijersbergen from Henegouwen takes over the Autotaalglas branch in Bergen op Zoom. He takes over the branch from Frank van der Vos, who has been the owner since 2010.

Beijersbergen van Henegouwen comes from the region and did not hesitate for a second when the takeover came his way. “I come from the car industry myself and I used to work at a Volvo dealer. I have also removed many cars that had window damage. I know how this market works,” he tells AM.

Staff

According to Beijersbergen van Henegouwen, former owner Van der Vos is quitting because he has reached retirement age. Van der Vos and his wife will remain involved in the company for the time being (at least until August). Beijersbergen van Henegouwen is happy with that, he explains. “I am running into the personnel problem. There are several applicants online, but not all of them always show up for a job interview.” Beijersbergen van Henegouwen therefore still desperately needs the help of Van der Vos and his wife. “But if they stop soon, I’m afraid of understaffing. That’s why I need two more people.”

Growing demand

Autotaalglas states that the demand for repairing window damage in the Netherlands continues to increase. This is due to the growing number of cars in our country and because the roads are less well maintained. “That combination causes window damage more often,” says Niek Kraak, franchise network manager at Autotaalglas. He likes to welcome new entrepreneurs to the network. “We think it is important to maintain our national coverage,” says Kraak.

Autotaalglas previously reported that there are a number of branches this year where the network will look for a successor.
