A major search is underway in and around Tournai on Sunday for 47-year-old Cathy Dubois. On Saturday evening she closed her restaurant in the center of Tournai, after which no one heard or saw her. Strangely enough, her damaged car was found. The police do not rule out any avenue.
Left herself, robbed for the day’s proceeds from her restaurant, she saw something in the evening that was not allowed… The police take everything into account.
“Search operations are underway, but no preliminary investigation has yet been opened in the file,” said the Tournai-Bergen public prosecutor’s office. But that could soon change, it sounds.
The federal police also issued an investigation notice on Sunday evening.
47-year-old Cathy Dubois disappeared on Saturday evening after closing her restaurant Une P’tit Envie in the center of Tournai. That was around 11:30 PM.
It had been a busy evening. After the last customers had left, she cleaned up some more and did the dishes.
Her partner and son went home at 10 p.m., after the kitchen was closed.
During the night, the woman’s car, a gray Peugeot, was found on Boulevard Eisenhower, behind Tournai station. The vehicle was damaged, but no traces of blood were found, the prosecutor’s office said. “The car was poorly parked, but was locked,” the police said.

The fire extinguisher may have been sprayed over the car to erase traces.
The Tournai police took the vehicle away for further investigation.
The woman’s partner and son were interrogated, but nothing was found.
