MusicJoost Klein is on the digital warpath against the bookmakers. In recent days, the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest dropped from the top three to sixth place. On Instagram he now makes fun of the betting offices with a number of posts and he also plays a fragment of a real ‘diss track’ about the bookmakers.

Before the rehearsals, Joost Klein was the gem for the bookmakers. He steadily climbed the ranks and just before all the artists reported in Malmö he was in third place and seemed to take over second place. But after his first appearance on the Eurovision stage, everything is different. His rehearsal with, among other things, a blue bird was not appreciated by the bookmakers and Klein slowly faded away. New favorite, for example, is Ireland, who convinced the audience on Tuesday evening with a horror act.

Klein does not leave it at that and has now started a campaign against the bookmakers. At the start of the day, he shared a poster on Instagram with the text in English underneath a photo of himself: “Bookmakers don’t want you to vote for him. This entry is no joke.” Klein also poses with Appie Mussa, while wearing a shirt with – new favorite – Ireland on it.

Number about bookmakers

The 26-year-old Fries has now also climbed behind the microphone to record a song about bookmakers. This time he does not rap in Dutch, but in English. “Bookmakers, f*cking boomers. They think I’m a joke, but I don’t think it’s funny,” he said in an excerpt in his Instagram stories. He also raps about some countries and about his friend Käärijä, who came second on behalf of Finland last year.

Joost Klein will be the last to play in the second semi-final on Thursday evening, just like our compatriot Mustii. If he qualifies, the Frisian may also perform in the grand final on Saturday evening. The bookmakers have high hopes for this. They estimate his chances to be extremely high at 93 percent.
