TVIt was completely worth the wait for Niels Destadsbader (35). His first own program ‘I ask it’ turned out to be a bull’s eye. VRT has ordered a second season. The presenter just announced this himself at ‘Radio2 Spits’.
Niels also shares the big news on VRT 1’s Instagram page. “Unfortunately, today is the very last episode of ‘I ask it’,” he begins with mock sadness. “But that is of course from the first season. Now comes the good news: there will be a second season.”
“A big thank you to all of you for watching, because of course it is thanks to you,” the presenter continues. “I’m already looking forward to it.”

It is for ‘I ask it’ that Niels switched from VTM to VRT three years ago. And although there was a lot of enthusiasm for the program from the first pitch, it would only bear fruit after a 2.5 year wait. At the end of January this year, Destadsbader attracted 819,000 viewers with the first episode, but that figure continued to grow as the program progressed. For the time being, the counter stands at an average of 937,564 viewers, according to VRT. This looked at both the viewers who watched television that evening and the viewers who watched the program via VRT MAX within the month. The last episode has not yet been added.
Niels Destadsbader has an exclusivity contract with the public broadcaster. That normally ends this year. Despite the announcement of a second season of ‘I ask it’, it is not yet clear whether that contract will be extended.
