Canoeing in Herentals

Prepare for an adventurous day on the water and get your water shoes ready. An exciting canoeing and kayaking adventure awaits the whole family along the Kleine Nete. Between Retie and Grobbendonk you will find a sailing route of no less than 25 kilometers long, with five convenient boarding points along the route. You don’t have to paddle the full distance; just choose the perfect route for you and your family. If you have little adventurers on board, a stop at the Ark Van Noë playground and petting zoo in Lichtaart is highly recommended. It is best to reserve your boat in advance via De Waterral or Kempen Kajaks. At De Waterral you can also go for an orienteering run, horse riding, mountain bike, raft or covered wagon rides. Why not stay a few extra days in the beautiful Kempen and enjoy everything the region has to offer with your children?

Animal lovers can visit the Zwaluw Bioboerderij on Sunday, April 7. That day is completely dedicated to the lambs. You will discover how sheep are sheared and how thread is made from sheep’s wool. Puppet Theater Pierke van Alijn – The Fairy of Light in Ghent

In the House of Alijn you can watch a performance of the famous puppet theater with Ghent’s Pierke in the leading role. The play ‘The Fairy of Light’ tells the story of Chagrin, who wants the Beukenbos at all costs. The king does not want that, so Grumpy enchants his daughter, causing her to see everything darkly. To help her, Pierke has to get a special skylight from the ‘Fairy of Light’. But will he succeed?

Playground tour in Dendermonde

Want to enjoy some quality time with the family on the last day of the Easter holidays? This is possible with the fourth edition of the playground tour in Dendermonde. The walk is about four kilometers long and passes some nice playgrounds in Dendermonde. The route is accessible for buggies and balance bikes. You can also enjoy snacks and drinks along the way. Last year the O’Neill Beach Club presented a first: an Easter dive. This is on the program again this year. All participants, known as ‘polar bears’, take a refreshing dip together in the North Sea. Every participant has a chance to find the golden egg. For the little ones there is also the Easter egg grab, full of fun surprises.

Toddler jitters in Ledegem

During Kleuterkriebels, the youngest children (first, second and third kindergarten) get the opportunity to play sports, cook, do crafts, play and much more. It is a classic during the Easter holidays, literally. The cycling classic Brabantse Pijl takes place on the Wednesday after Paris-Roubaix. The competition departs from Leuven and arrives in Overijse a few hours later. The starting shot will sound around 12.30 pm on the Ladeuzeplein in the student city. In the hour before the start, the riders gather there to sign the starting sheet. As a fan you can mingle with the riders and admire the impressive fleet and bicycles. The start list is not yet final, but the provisional list of participants already includes the names of Arnaud De Lie, Marc Hirschi, Michael Matthews and Tim Wellens. And there will undoubtedly be some big guns.

Block Festival in Dilbeek

KWB Savio is organizing a block festival for the first time on Saturday in the Savio Center in Dilbeek. So LEGO enthusiasts know where to go. At the block festival you will be treated to a load of no less than 150 kilograms of Danish blocks. Enough material to get creative with. KWB provides examples of structures and building plates to get you started. There are two construction moments to visit. The first takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the second from 2 to 5 p.m. Participation is free, but you must register in advance by sending an email to [email protected].
