We don’t have to tell you that parenting is challenging. There is no manual and there is none one size fits all. So it’s logical that you sometimes have questions and dilemmas. For example, Yvette wondered whether she could leave her baby alone while refueling, and you had an answer to that.

Marissa Yvette understands: “I don’t do it and that’s why I let my partner get gas or when we’re together.”

Ellen doesn’t understand: “Don’t leave your baby alone when refueling?? Because?”

Clarinda thinks it’s a bit exaggerated: “Well, sorry, but I really can’t take them out for those two minutes. We can also exaggerate it.”

Janneke also: “Wow, now it’s getting a bit overly paranoid! You won’t be gone for fifteen minutes. And you can always see your car when you are inside. And cars are almost always in the shade at the gas station.”

Anneke shares a tip: “There are also gas stations where you can pay straight away at the pump, which I always used when I went out with the little ones. They are now 5 and 3, they will definitely be in the car when I go to refuel. Do you know how much stuff they have at the gas shop that my kids want?

Laura has its own theory: “It is more dangerous to take those out-of-control monkeys out of the car with a pump. No, lock the car and go.”

Nanja thinks about the scarce time: “It takes longer to get your child out of the car than it takes to pay for the whole thing. So just leave it in the car, with the window ajar.”

Rowey has changed his mind: “I wondered that too. With twins as a single person, the answer was very quickly: from now on, yes.”

Saartje: “Where can the baby go safely? While refueling, don’t you just look at your baby through the window? In the summer with a crack open of course. ;)”
