CGS Prins Maurits participated in the international school project ‘Viruskenner’ and has even won prizes. Employees of Erasmus MC and Cirion organized the ‘Viruskenner’ project again in 2024 in collaboration with the Technasium foundation. Schools participated from the Netherlands, but also from Italy and Suriname. The aim of the ‘Virus Connoisseur’ project is to create more awareness about viral diseases and how to combat the transmission of viruses.

The VWO 2 students of the Technasium of the CSG Prins Maurits spent ten weeks studying different types of viruses and thinking about ways in which people can prevent themselves from becoming infected with the virus. The final of the project was April 23, 2024. That day, the students presented, in English, their prevention method for a self-selected target group and the elaboration of the method on a poster. The CSG Prins Maurits team won this competition.

There was also a knowledge quiz, in which students Levi Boot from the CSG Prins Maurits won first prize. Kyra Klepper, also from CSG Prins Maurits, came third.
