UDEN | Mark Bevers, owner of Chiropractie Uden-Veghel, has a clear goal: helping people in an effective and scientific way and thus putting modern chiropractic on the map. Due to success, Mark and his colleagues are also offering a free screening or ultrasound during the month of April.

Chiropractic is a medical discipline concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the entire musculoskeletal system. A chiropractor is the expert in the field of back problems, neck problems, headaches and other complaints that originate in the spine and the nervous system. Complaints outside the spine can also be treated well with chiropractic care: muscle complaints and other joint pains. “The aim of the treatment is mainly pain relief, improvement of function and improving the quality of life and sports performance,” Mark explains. “But we also treat preventively. People often already have complaints when they come here, but it is of course best to try to prevent them. The sooner you get there, the better.”

Free screening
Interested parties can make an appointment in April for a free and without obligation for a back screening or ultrasound at Chiropractie Uden-Veghel at Rondweg 15 in Uden. “During this screening or ultrasound, people can discuss their complaints and we provide advice and tips. So it is not a treatment, but a short examination in which people can become acquainted with chiropractic. We think it is important that people know that chiropractic is a scientifically proven and effective treatment method. People have the idea that there is something ‘foggy’ about it, but that is not the case at all. Many also think that we only ‘crack bones’, but we do much more than that. An important part of our treatment, for example, is also information, muscle techniques, dry needling, rehabilitation exercises, laser therapy and shockwave.”

Ultrasound
Using ultrasound, the chiropractor can identify the cause of your complaint even more precisely and thus treat you more specifically with, for example, dry needling, laser and shockwave. “Ultrasound is an examination technique in which we use sound waves to create images of muscles, tendons or structures in the body. An ultrasound is painless and completely harmless.”

Collaborations
The practice has good collaborations with other medical specialists in Uden, Veghel and the surrounding area, such as general practitioners, physiotherapists and podiatrists. You can also visit physiotherapists in the practice. “Some general practitioners are themselves being treated by us,” says Mark. “In our practice we work goal-oriented and we want to help people in the short term. I once had a patient who had been to another practitioner no fewer than 21 times and who did not get better. This is of course absurd. We want to treat people intensively for three or four weeks. This is an average of about five to six treatments, depending on the complaints. If nothing improves, we may have to look further or refer to another medical specialist.” The practice has grown considerably in the past year. “We are getting more and more recognition. People are getting to know chiropractic and understanding what it entails. We therefore try to provide the best possible information to patients. For example, we explain the function of the back and how people should take good care of their back. That’s really important.”

Health insurer
The consultations at Chiropractie Uden-Veghel are reimbursed by almost every health insurer. The reimbursements vary per health insurer and the policy taken out. Chiropractic care is reimbursed by the supplementary insurance, so there is no deductible for this. You do not need a referral from your GP to be treated by a chiropractor. You can make an appointment directly.
