Kylie Minogue and Diesel

For the occasion, the Australian singer chose a gray-blue dress by Diesel and therefore also the Belgian designer Glenn Martens. A love that is mutual by the way. “She is one of my favorite artists of all time,” says Martens in the days leading up to the gala Vogue. “The first time I went to see a Kylie Minogue concert was in Antwerp in the early 2000s. I was still a student then, but the song ‘Slow’ is still one of my favorite songs. For me, Minogue stands for joy, equality and fun, values that match Diesel and myself.”

It’s no surprise that the two appeared together on the red carpet at the Met Gala. He in a sleek black suit with a fine tie, she in a trompe l’oeil creation of his, finished with thousands of crystals in his typical jeans knit. Glamorous and mysterious at the same time, according to the singer.

And good for Martens: Dove Cameron and Damiano David also chose Diesel.

Damson Idris and Prada

Prada is a permanent fixture on just about every red carpet. The Italian fashion house, where Belgian Raf Simons is currently creative director, was also well represented at the Met Gala, especially among the men. For example, actor Damson Idris, best known for the crime series, chose Snowfallfor a classic black suit.

His colleagues Jeff Goldblum and Harris Dickinson also dressed in a tight, black suit, just like photographer Tyler Mitchell. Although he added a whole bouquet to his white shirt for the occasion.

To include a woman: actress Amanda Seyfried went royal for the Met Gala with a striking crown and matching silver dress from Prada. The flowers on the dress refer to the theme. Sarah Paulson opted for powder pink in combination with black, a color that was banned for a long time by organizer Anna Wintour. She thought it was more of a funeral thing.

Vittoria Ceretti and Alaïa

Top model Vittoria Ceretti perhaps chose one of the hippest brands of the moment: Alaïa. Her cream-white dress stood out among the colorful ones because of its simplicity and architectural shape. The sky-high slit not only provides a touch of sensuality without being too much, it gives the dress spice and elegance.

Also Vogueeditor Lisa Love chose the Alaïa by Belgian designer Pieter Mulier. Only she was at the other end of the color spectrum. She opted for an inconspicuous black dress with a closed neckline. And like an editor of Vogue Befitting: she also wore jet black sunglasses, as usual.

Rebecca Ferguson and Tom Eerebout

He is Lady Gaga’s personal stylist, but for the Met Gala he unleashed his ‘magic’ on Rebecca Ferguson. The actress, known for the films Dune and Mission Impossible, turned heads in a figure-hugging Thom Browne dress. The accompanying cape had a baby blue lining with black ravens. A reference to TheRavensa poem by Edgar Allen Poe.

Eerebout does not have his own clothing line (for the time being), but for fans there is a collection of sunglasses that he released in collaboration with Komono.
