The makers of the telenovella Milo will have sighed deeply. After actor Mathijs F. Scheepers (49) suffered a double leg fracture, the scripts had to be rewritten.

Exercise is healthy, but not always. Mathijs F. Scheepers, known for the series, among others Missing, is a goalkeeper for the veterans. After kicking the ball away, he was tackled by an opponent. The consequences were corresponding. Scheepers’ leg appears to have been crushed to pieces. The damage? Broken both tibia and fibula.

The necessary surgical procedure in the hospital has already been completed, but the recovery will take weeks. For example, he has to walk on crutches for a month and a half to avoid overloading his leg. He won’t be able to walk normally again until the middle of this summer.

Impact on Milo

Naturally, this has consequences for the recordings of Milo. Scheepers was constantly expected on set in the coming weeks as his alter-ego Pol. Most recordings can continue, but Mathijs will always have to sit. Since there have been more actors on set with a broken arm or leg or a round stomach in the past, TV makers know perfectly well how to hide such things from viewers. Provided the right camera angles and adjustments to the scripts are made, there will be no sign of the actor being temporarily immobile.
