Real ‘Martha’ from Baby Reindeer goes wild in interview: ‘He was completely obsessed with me’ | RTL Boulevard

Comedian Richard Gadd was stalked by a woman for years and made a Netflix series about this. Baby Reindeer was an immediate big hit and there was soon a hunt for the real stalker, who is called Martha in the series. Fans discovered that the woman in question was Fiona Harvey, partly due to her similar and confusing social media posts. Fiona had the opportunity to tell Piers Morgan her side of the story on Thursday evening and eagerly took advantage of it.

Fiona says in the interview that although she recognizes herself in ‘Martha’, she believes that she has not been portrayed correctly. “What you see in the series is completely made up,” she claims. “Gadd is a psychotic misogynist.” Fiona also denies that she bombarded Richard with 41,000 emails, 350 hours of voicemails, 744 tweets and 106 letters. “I sent him a few emails, a few tweets and one letter. So it’s a huge exaggeration.”

Fiona also denies that she has ever been violent. “He claims I assaulted his girlfriend, but I don’t think he had a girlfriend at all, or one that I knew of. Let alone touched her.” In addition, she says she has never been convicted of the charges and has never been in prison, something that is stated in the series. “I wasn’t obsessed with him at all. He tried to have sex with me, but I showed him the door. I don’t like little boys without a real job,” she sneers.

According to Fiona, there are only two elements in the series that are correct. “We met at the pub where he worked, the Hawley Arms. And I did say to him he looked like a baby reindeer. Because he had shaved his head and it reminded me of a funny stuffed animal I used to have.” However, Martha denies that she visited Richard in the pub every day. “We’ve seen each other two or three times since then. It’s not true that he offered me a free cup of tea, I was there for a full meal that I paid for myself. I didn’t even speak to him.”

In fact, Richard would have spoken to her on that first day. “He interrupted a conversation I was having with someone else in the pub because he heard I was Scottish and that interested him.” From that moment on, according to Fiona, Richard became ‘completely obsessed’ with her. She is anything but happy with the series. “I intend to take legal action against both him and Netflix.”
