Joost Klein from the Netherlands did not perform during the first dress rehearsal of the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The EBU is investigating an incident involving the Dutch singer, but more information is still lacking. It is unknown what this will mean for the actual participation in the live show in the final.

The editorial team of Songfestival.be is currently following the first dress rehearsal together with the other assembled press. From the fourth country in line, Luxembourg, to Israel, which came sixth. The Netherlands was completely skipped as country number five.

It followed no communication from the organization or presentationbut in the meantime the EBU sent out a short announcement:

‘We are currently investigating an incident that was reported to us with the Dutch candidate’, it says. ‘He will not be rehearsing until further notice. We have no further response and will provide more news later.’

More details about the nature of the incident and possible consequences for the Dutch participation in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest are not yet known at the time of writing. We will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
