Richard Vogel has added another victory to his list of achievements. In the Grand Prix of Mannheim, the top rider, who is currently ninth in the World Rankings, jumped today with Cydello (by Cascadello) to the top prize of 21,250 euros. Bas Moerings achieved the best result for the Netherlands. He also finished in prizes with Ipsthar (by Denzel van het Meulenhof).

Of the 46 participants, ten made it to the jump-off. Of those ten, four managed to keep the slate clean in the decisive round against the clock. Richard Vogel turned out to be in a class of his own. With Cydello, who won a class over 1.55 m at the GCT in Mexico City last month, the German rider was the only one to finish under 42 seconds. With a fast jump-off time of 41.74 seconds, he received the first prize and the audience was treated to a home victory.

Kukuk makes a good attempt

Christian Kukuk made his best attempt to get close to Vogel, but he could not match his compatriot’s time. With Emerald daughter Nice van’t Zorgvliet he crossed the finish line in 42.49 seconds and finished second, good for the ‘consolation prize’ of 17,000 euros.

Hellström third

Wilma Hellström also rode a flawless jump-off ride. Several combinations were faster than the Swedish rider, but had to pay for this with a beam. Hellström benefited from this: her flawless ride with Cicci BJN (by Ci Ci Senjor ASK) in 45.06 seconds earned her third prize.

Moerings in the prizes

Bas Moerings achieved the best result for the Netherlands. With Ipsthar he incurred 4 penalties in the basic course, but as the second fastest four-faulter, Moerings won the twelfth prize.
