I find this interesting.
Didn’t it start the same way with the mobile phone?
I remember from that time (early 1990s) a Friday afternoon drink, where a group of employees were having a nice chat with their employer over a beer.
One of the youngest employees was one of the first to buy a mobile phone with his money (his salary). He could only make and receive calls with it, nothing else because all those applications of today did not exist yet.
Naturally, the conversation quickly turned very animated on that mobile phone.
The type, what such a thing cost, what you could do with it, battery power, which provider, the range, etc.
Until it became too much for the employer, the boy was more or less lectured.
“It’s a waste of money to buy such a stupid thing for that purpose, for the same money you could have done much more useful things, MUCH! Because who do you really need to call between nose and lips, your mother, your girlfriend? Man man, that today’s youth can be so stupid as to buy this kind of rubbish. You will find a telephone on every street corner and there are telephones in every house and building, but no, he wants a telephone without a wire, the idiot!”
How quickly the development has gone from then on!
What can these things do these days, because if you lose it you are quite badly injured! And those telephone booths on the street, including the telephone books, have completely disappeared.
In fact, nowadays you can control your lighting or curtains (with or without the intervention of HA) with your mobile phone.
Perhaps HA will experience enormous development, just like the smartphone.
That in about 20 years a home will no longer be able to do without it.
