Pancreatic cancer ranks eighth among cancer diagnoses in our country. Due to the vague symptoms, most patients already have metastases at diagnosis and are no longer alive five years later. What are the main symptoms of this difficult-to-cure cancer? And how do you reduce the risk? Oncologist Prof. Dr. Jeroen Dekervel (UZ Leuven) answers: “This procedure is complex and only takes place in a recognized expertise center.”
