Mustii could not sufficiently appeal to the European audience with his ‘Before The Party’s Over’ and will not advance to the final. Joost Klein, the Dutch phenomenon, was adored by Malmö and the viewer. He set the audience on fire, but also managed to touch the audience with an emotional message to his deceased parents at the end of his performance. He may – as expected – take office on Saturday.
Israel
In any case, it was a second semi-final under high tension. Israel’s participation in particular caused a lot of criticism, due to the war in Gaza. During the performance, deafening boos rang through the audience. Earlier, the Israeli public broadcaster had filed a complaint because there was also a lot of boos during the dress rehearsal.
We will also see these countries again on Saturday: Latvia, Austria, Norway, Greece, Estonia, Switzerland, Georgia and Armenia.
Secret political protest
The EBU has emphasized several times in recent months that the Eurovision Song Contest is not a political event. Yet there was also subtle protest from our candidate Mustii during the show. Anyone who paid close attention would see that the word ‘PEACE’ (peace, ed.) was written on his arm.
