A man on the run from a gunman tried to take cover at the home of Olivia’s family. There it went wrong and several shots were fired. Police suspect the chase that resulted in the child’s death was related to a gang war.
The arrested man is from Liverpool and is being questioned by detectives. A 41-year-old man from Knowsley has also been arrested. He is suspected of helping the shooter. Merseyride Police are reporting the arrests.
The man who was on the run is a convicted burglar. He fled into the Pratt-Korbell home after Olivia’s mother opened the door to see what was going on outside.
Mother injured too
The mother (46) resisted and tried to keep the man out, but failed. She herself was also hit by a bullet and injured her wrist. The man who wanted to entrench himself was also hit by a bullet.
Two suspects, aged 33 and 36, who had been arrested earlier, including the burglar, were released on bail a week ago. The burglar has also been arrested for violating the terms of his parole.
