Netflix has announced that the prices of their subscriptions in Belgium will increase. This involves a price increase of 1 to 2 euros per month, depending on the type of subscription.
The new prices are effective immediately for new customers, while existing customers will receive an email with the details of the price increase and the date it takes effect.
The price increase is the first in Belgium since the end of 2021. According to Netflix, the increase is necessary to continue investing in new series, programs and films. Customers who wish to cancel their subscription can do so free of charge.
Types of subscriptions
- Base: €9.99 per month (was €8.99).
- This allows you to watch in HD on one screen at a time.
- Standard: €15.99 per month (was €13.99).
- This allows you to watch on two screens simultaneously in Full HD.
- Premium: €19.99 per month (was €17.99).
- This allows you to watch on four screens simultaneously in Ultra HD and with spatial audio.
Netflix Standard and Premium subscribers have the option to add additional members for $3.99 per month. This feature was introduced when Netflix started tightening controls on password sharing.
- Standard: You can add one additional member.
- Premium: You can add two additional members.

For the time being, Netflix in Belgium still does not have a subscription with advertising. The Standard with Ads subscription was introduced in various countries a year and a half ago. Users have the option to take out a cheaper subscription, but they will still see advertisements regularly. In countries with such an advertising subscription, the streaming service is in the process of abolishing the Basic subscription.
