In the first leg in Germany it ended 2-2 and so Real started the match with a slight advantage. Real in the Champions League at the Bernabéu: extremely difficult to beat. On Saturday, Thibaut Courtois made his return after months of injuries, but for the cracker against Bayern, Ancelotti opted for the injured Andry Lunin, as expected. The Ukrainian saw how Real claimed possession in the initial phase, but the first opportunity was for the Germans. Musiala sent Gnabry into the lane and he saw Kane run free in front of goal, but his cross lacked precision. Kane clutched his head: if the cross had been good, he should have tapped in. Real had been warned: giving space to Bayern was extremely dangerous.

Lunin and Neuer stand firm

Real’s answer came quickly. After a quick throw-in from Rodrygo, Carvajal found Vinicius. His cross shot hit the post via Neuer and in the restart Rodrygo also failed to get past the German goalkeeper. Bayern breathed a sigh of relief, but that was soon followed by a sigh of frustration: Gnabry had to leave injured, Davies took his place. The Canadian saw how his teammate Kane took a ball, but Lunin pushed the ball into a corner. And the last word in the first half also belonged to a goalkeeper. A cross from Vinicius went past everything and everyone, but the Neuer was just able to put his fingertips against it. 0-0 at half time and that was mainly due to the goalkeepers.

Vinicius swirls, but Davies scores

Even after the break the game went smoothly back and forth, but Real was still the most dangerous team. Vinicius dribbled away, often without a good final pass. When he offered Rodrygo an opportunity in the box, he kicked wide. When both Brazilians did score in the frame, Neuer made great saves. Real were in charge and created opportunities, Bayern seemed nowhere for a while.

Seemed, admittedly. Against the flow of the game – we would dare to say Reals in the Champions League – Davies put Bayern ahead with a beautiful bang with his inferior right hand. Barely a few minutes later, Real seemed to be on level terms again, but Nacho too blatantly pushed Kimmich to the ground. The VAR intervened and the score remained 0-1.

Incredible marriage

Bayern still had chances to make it 0-2, but the side netting and the crossbar prevented that. Real needed a final offensive and then they looked at Vinicius. He almost crowned his strong match with an equalizer, but he could not keep Rüdiger’s cross down. We didn’t get much pressure from Real, but Neuer – who had such a good game – made a mistake on a Vinicius shot, Joselu followed well and tapped in the equalizer.

Bernabéu was in ecstasy and if there can be a ghost anywhere in the Champions League, it is in the Spanish capital. Bayern had lost the North, the Royal smelled blood. Rüdiger was suddenly free on the left flank, brought the ball across and sure enough: Joselu tapped in. The linesman postponed the party for a while by flagging for offside, but the replay left no doubt and the VAR also saw that. 2-1 for Real and a new Champions League final. Real and the Champions League: an incredible marriage.

  • The first leg ended 2-2
  • Davies opens the score with a wonderful bang
  • Substitute Joselu scores twice in three minutes

Real Madrid does it again!

Los Blancos dominated the game, but seemed to be eliminated for a moment by a strike from Alphonso Davies. Substitute Joselu does the unthinkable for the Royal team and scores twice in three minutes. Real Madrid is again in the final of the Champions League. Will Los Blancos win their fifteenth Cup with the Big Ears against Borussia Dortmund?

Ai ai ai Marciniak

The Bayern players can’t believe it at all. Der Rekordmeister scores, but Marciniak whistles for offside just before the goal is scored. Replays show that it would be very close.

9′ extra

Nine minutes of added time are added. Can Bayern still change this result?

What incredible scenes we experience here! Substitute Joselu crowns himself the hero of the Bernabéu. The ball hangs from the corner kick. Rüdiger can serve Joselu for his second of the evening. Bayern Munich from heaven to hell in a minute and a half.

Real Madrid does it again! Los Blancos score a few minutes before the final whistle. Vinicius comes in and lashes out with a treacherous shot. Neuer misjudges the bots and Joselu is quick to tap the ball over the goal line. What a shame this is for Manuel Neuer who had a top match.

The bar as a spoilsport

Soon there was the redeeming second goal for Bayern Munich. Kim Min-jae heads onto the crossbar from a corner kick. The goal would not have happened anyway, Marciniak had already whistled for a foul in the box.

Vinicius just not

Rüdiger delivers a world-class pass towards Vinicius, who has run deep. The Brazilian cannot keep the ball down and aims over.

Goal disallowed!

The party is canceled after all. Nacho gave a firm push just before he hit the ball. Referee Marciniak had to go to the screen and disallowed the goal.

Bayern was not able to enjoy the lead for really long. The Royals immediately equalized from a corner kick. Nacho kicks wide of the ball after a rehearsed number and so the ball goes into his own goal via Davies.

What a masterful goal! Musiala starts a counter and passes to Kane, the latter distributes the play to Davies. The Canadian comes in and hits the leather wonderfully with his inferior right in the square.
