ZWOLLE (ANP) – Behind the assassination attempt on ‘tattookiller’ Cor P. was a criminal organization with “soldiers, murder brokers and clients”. The names of Jaouad F. and Ridouan Taghi are frequently mentioned in the file, it became apparent on Monday on the first day of this criminal case in the court in Zwolle.
Investigation 26Woltz revolves around an extensive weapons cache, assaults and the attempt to kill Cor P. in the Dominican Republic. The fugitive P. was shot in January 2022. He was hit fourteen times but survived the attack. The Public Prosecution Service sees behind all this a professional organization with two ‘brokers’: Krystian M. (28) and 24-year-old Carlos van der S. They managed executors who were called ‘soldiers’.
Krystian M. is also suspected of being a murder broker in the murder of Peter R. de Vries. He allegedly arranged that murder on Taghi’s instructions. M., like Taghi and Jaouad F., is not on trial in 26Woltz investigation.
Right hand
Above Van der S. would be Jaouad F., the alleged right-hand man of Ridouan Taghi. It was not clear at the hearing on Monday why Cor P. had to die. P. had fled the Netherlands during a murder case. After the attack he was re-incarcerated. He is now in a high-security cell awaiting the appeal in that case in which the Public Prosecution Service demanded a life sentence against him.
One of the other alleged victims of Van der S.’s group was an Albanian who allegedly stole cocaine from Taghi, one of the prosecutors said. The suspects did not speak about clients on Monday. “I also want to have a future,” Van der S. responded. He is said to have recruited his neighbor in Amersfoort as a ‘soldier’ or executor. “You don’t have to scare people,” he wrote to this ‘soldier’. “Only rams. You’re a soldier.”
In investigation 26Woltz, seven suspects have already been sentenced to prison terms with a maximum of ten years and two months. The criminal case continues on Tuesday.
