The Saloon and Estate are both equipped as standard with the AMG SPEEDSHIFTTCT 9G transmission, active rear axle steering and the steel-sprung AMG RIDECONTROL suspension with adaptively adjustable damping. Also standard are the uni paints polar white and black or the metallic paints obsidian black, high-tech silver, verde silver, graphite gray, velvet brown and nautical blue.

The E53 HYBRID-specific rear-illuminated trim in gray open-pore ash wood with AMG logo stands out in the interior. The MBUX multimedia system not only offers AMG-specific displays and functions, but also AMG-exclusive content. The electrically adjustable AMG sports seats are also standard. They are upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather/MICROCUT microfibre with red contrasting topstitching and AMG-specific seat design. Electrically adjustable AMG Performance seats are available as an option. The AMGPerformance steering wheel in nappa leather with AMG steering wheel buttons is also standard equipment.

Edition 1

From its introduction, the new E53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ will be available for a year as an exclusive ‘Edition 1’. The ‘Edition 1’ is available for a recommended retail price from € 150,241 for the sedan and € 152,810 for the Estate. There is a choice of MANUFAKTUR alpine gray plain or MANUFAKTUR opal white magno paintwork (optional). The flanks of this version are visually extended with a foil with black decorative stripes. The 21-inch cross-spoke forged AMG wheels are matte black with high-sheen rim flanges. The wheel hub caps have an ‘Edition’ label with a laurel wreath. The black brake calipers with white AMG logos also match the dark appearance.

The ‘Edition 1’ is also equipped with the AMG Night Package and AMG Night Package II as standard. Elements such as the front splitter and the decorative moldings on the top of the doors and on the window frames are finished in high-gloss black. Together with the double exhaust tips in high-gloss black, this creates strong contrasts. In addition, there is the heat-resistant, dark tinted glass for the rear window and the rear side windows. The AMG Night Package II includes elements in black chrome, namely the bars and the edge of the grille as well as the moldings and badges on the front wings. In addition, the door handles, the molding on the tailgate, the type designation and the Mercedes star at the rear are also in black chrome.

The dynamic visual impression is enhanced by the AMG Carbon Fiber Package Exterior II. The package includes exterior mirrors in carbon look. On the Limousine, the spoiler edge on the tailgate is made of carbon. The AMG fuel cap in silver chrome with “AMG” lettering emphasizes the special status of the “Edition1”.

The interior is characterized by the contrast of black and yellow. The AMGPerformance seats have black nappa leather upholstery with yellow topstitching and “Edition 1” lettering on the front headrests. They enhance the sporty appearance, as do the yellow seat belts and the exclusive trim parts in AMG carbon with yellow topstitching. The AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/MICROCUT microfibre with yellow topstitching and the AMG door sills with yellow illuminated “AMG” lettering match this perfectly. The finishing touch is the exclusive “Edition 1” engraving in the center console and the specific AMG floor mats with yellow decorative seams and “Edition 1” lettering. The MBUX Superscreen with front passenger display is also standard.

To protect the vehicle, each customer receives a custom-made AMG indoor car cover with ‘Edition1’ logo. With its breathable outer fabric made of tear-resistant synthetic fiber fabric and anti-static inner fabric made of flannel, it protects the vehicle in the garage against dust and scratches.

Engine

The combination of the 3.0 liter six-cylinder in-line engine and the permanently excited synchronous electric motor generates a maximum system power of 430 kW (585 hp) and with RACE START 450 kW/612 hp and a maximum system torque of 750 Nm. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds and the top speed is limited to 280 km/h. With the electric drive alone, a speed of up to 140 km/h is possible. To save space, the 120 kW electric motor is integrated into the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission. The electric motor’s maximum torque of 480 Nm is available from the first revolution.
