Samsung 4G update is rolling out to many phones

Samsung is known for updating its smartphones relatively long and often. The company also does not lose sight of older devices, even if they are five years or older. A 4G update is now being released for several older phones. New devices from the Galaxy S and Galaxy A series are also updated.

It is striking that the update is even available for the Galaxy A5 (2017), the website reports GalaxyClub. This smartphone is more than seven years old and has not been supported with Android version updates and security patches for quite some time, but is now receiving the 4G update.

Samsung’s 4G update is relatively small, but certainly not unimportant. The update ensures that your Samsung phone continues to work on all frequencies of the available mobile networks – even abroad. It is therefore smart to download and install the patch as soon as you receive it. This way you can be sure that your device functions optimally if you have internet via 4G.

As you probably know, you will automatically receive a notification when the update for your Samsung smartphone is available. Have you not received anything yet, but would you like to check yourself whether you can download the software update? Open the settings, go to ‘Software update’ and tap ‘Download and install’. You will then automatically see whether new software is available.

Samsung and updates

If you buy a Samsung smartphone or tablet, you can generally count on them being supported for a long time. A good example of this is the Galaxy S24 series, which receives no less than seven years of updates. Support for other Galaxy S and Galaxy A devices ends earlier, although they are often still provided with updates for about five years. You are also good to go with the affordable Galaxy A55, A54, A35 and A34 for the time being.
