Google is working on a new feature in Android 15 that will allow users to force all apps on their smartphones into dark mode.

Why is this important?

Dark mode has become increasingly popular because it can extend the battery life of smartphones and is less tiring for the eyes in the dark. Many people therefore like to use dark mode on their smartphones, but avoid having to manually enable it for all apps. There is now a solution for this.

The essence: The new feature in Android 15 would go a step further than the existing feature in Android by enabling dark mode for all apps, even those that don’t have their own dark mode feature. The new feature would also work for apps that do not have their own dark mode function.

When? It is not yet known if and when the new feature will be available. The feature is currently not available in the beta version of Android 15. It is expected that the feature will only become available in a later update of Android 15.
