Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Shift Up have announced a free demo of the hack & slash game Stellar Blade, a game that will be released in stores in a few weeks.
Due to an error, this demo was already available for a few hours at the beginning of this month. Some gamers have already been able to complete the demo. The rest were shown a lock on the PlayStation dashboard, which meant that the demo could no longer be played. The demo weighs over 17GB and contains about an hour and a half of content. The demo lets you play through the beginning of the game until the first boss fight. There is also an extensive tutorial where you learn the mechanics of the game. Progress from the demo can be carried over to the full game, so you don’t have to replay the beginning.
In the demo, main character Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad, goes on a mission to Earth to save the planet from the alien Naytiba. The demo runs at 60 frames per second and haptick feedback from the DualSense controller is supported. Adaptive triggers are not mentioned by Sony or Shift Up, Stellar Blade may only use haptick feedback.
The Stellar Blade demo can be played for free on the PlayStation 4 from March 29, 2024. There are also subtitles in Dutch for those who prefer this.
The long-awaited action game Stellar Blade will be released on April 26, 2024 for the PlayStation 5. The game will have a price tag of €69.99, pre-orders are now possible. Placing a pre-order gives you the bonuses “Planet Diving Suit”, “Classic Round Glasses” and “Ear Armor Earrings”.
