Carl Hoefkens can be very satisfied with Club Brugge’s summer mercato. Only Charles De Ketelaere is a big loss. Blauw-Zwart is heavily amplified from this mercato and is the title favourite. Hoefkens addressed the media.

With Roman Yaremchuk, Hoefkens got another very expensive striker. “Novel was definitely worth the wait. I am very happy with his arrival. Also with Rapha’s, who I see as a real ‘six’. We will try to fit them in as soon as possible. As for those amounts: it’s a lot of money, that’s for sure, but compared to the past we are competing with other clubs. Which also makes the transfer periods a bit more difficult. But again: we are very satisfied”, says Hoefkens.

Hans Vanaken and Noa Lang also stayed. “That Vanaken stays? I am of course very happy, because everyone knows how important he is to Club Brugge. So I’m very happy with that. I am also pleased that Noa is still there and because of his presence the quality only increases. Do we have the strongest team in Belgium? I don’t compare with other teams.”

“That Vormer is still there? That is no problem at all for me. I am satisfied with his attitude and you can not wish for more as a coach. I cannot look inside his head, but the way he behaves seems to me that he is still is happy.”

Hoefkens is very satisfied with the work that was delivered. “I am satisfied with the transfers that have been completed. The mercato went the way we wanted and that is something you can never predict. Do we have a stronger core than last year? I don’t look to the past, but I see a lot of potential.”
