Busy final day at Barcelona and PSG: an overview of key shifts on deadline day

FC Barcelona has had a busy final day of the international transfer market. An overview.

Barcelona picked up right back Hector Bellerin, who comes from his own youth and broke his contract with Arsenal by mutual agreement. Barcelona themselves mutually terminated the contract of miscast Martin Braithwaite. Right wing defender Sergiño Dest would be loaned to AC Milan with purchase option. An exchange deal with Chelsea for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also in the pipeline at the time of going to press. The Gabonese striker was blocked in Catalonia by Robert Lewandowski. Barça would catch Marcos Alonso plus 14 million euros in exchange.

There was also a lot of activity in Paris. PSG got rid of four players. Abdou Diallo is on loan from RB Leipzig with option to buy, Layvin Kurzawa opted for Fulham, Idrissa Gueye returned to Everton and Julian Draxler is loaned to Benfica. PSG themselves took the 25-year-old Spanish playmaker Carlos Soler from Valencia.

Former Brazilian international Willian (34) signed a one-season contract with PhD student Fulham. Willian left Arsenal last year and returned to his youth club Corinthians in Brazil after nine years in the Premier League, but said he could no longer tolerate the threats against his family.

Manchester United has completed his transfer homework with the arrival of goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. He comes from Newcastle United on loan with purchase option.

Liverpool hires Brazilian playmaker Arthur from Juventus, without purchase option. The Reds were still looking for a midfielder.(vdm)
