Bilal El Khannouss can become world top according to Wesley Sonck. In Extra Time he even compared him to Luka Modric, the star of Real Madrid: “When I see men like Modric, I think: he has that too.”
Sonck has been a fan of El Khannouss for a long time. When he was coach of the Belgian U19, he wanted to convince him to choose Belgium. He has been following him since he played for Anderlecht’s youth team.
“I tried to convince him to choose the Red Devils with my Genk past,” Sonck said in Extra Time. “But he told me he chose his heart. I like that. I prefer you to be direct.”
Sonck does not simply make the comparison with Modric. The Croatian is also a pure distributor, not the man with the big statistics. “I was thinking about it a few months ago,” said El Khannouss himself.
“Then someone said that there are players with good grades, but they didn’t help much in the game. Although I think I should get better statistics with the qualities I have.”
