Cercle Brugge continues to play its role as referee in the title debate excellently. With four matchdays to go in the Champions’ Play-Offs, Groen-Zwart can still dream of a European ticket. A number of players can therefore count on the necessary foreign interest.

In the first years since returning to the highest level, Groen-Zwart had to fight hard for retention. But the turnaround has now begun. Last season, the people of Bruges even qualified for the Europe Play-Offs, where they ultimately came second. And in the current year a new step forward was taken.

Cercle qualified for the Champions’ Play-Offs for the first time in its history and with one win and three draws in six matches, it is by no means a follower. The team therefore links its energetic and attractive playing style to the necessary results. Great work by coach Miron Muslic.

Millions for Denkey

The Austrian can therefore count on a talented selection. Kévin Denkey in particular is having a strong season. The Golden Bull did not play his best match against Anderlecht last weekend, but has already scored 26 goals. Those figures will normally earn him a nice transfer next summer.

Cercle is aiming for the jackpot. “We do not commit ourselves to an asking price,” says TD Rembert Vromant The last news. “But look at the transfer amounts paid for strikers in Belgium in recent years. Paul Onuachu (18 million euros), Jonathan David (31 million), … We want to go in that direction.”

Dear Daland

Denkey could already count on interest from England, Germany and France. But he is not the only player in the spotlight. Vromant expects that Jesper Daland’s sleeve will also be pulled hard. “We are taking Daland’s departure into account this summer. And then of course there is Denkey. From the phone calls I receive for him, I notice that he is very well in the market,” said the TD.
