At the beginning of December, Radja Nainggolan (35) opted for an adventure at FC Bhayangkara, in Indonesia. Avoiding relegation was the main goal, but the Antwerp native was not successful in that.

Nainggolan scored a goal and three assists in ten games, but that was not enough to keep Bhayangkara FC in the top division in Indonesia. The army club finished in penultimate place with 26 points from 34 matches and is thus relegated to the second level.

On Instagram, Nainggolan announced that his contract with Bhayangkara is expiring. However, a new European adventure seems very far away, because the Antwerp resident clearly shows that he sees his near future in Indonesia, the country of birth of Nainggolan’s father.

“The people here are wonderful and have my undying respect. I hope to continue with Bhayangkara or another team. Hopefully see you next season, but my future lies here in Indonesia. To be continued,” said Radja Nainggolan.
