The clash between the Rouches and the Canaries was on the program on Saturday afternoon. At Standard, Balikwisha and Canak made way for Sowah and Djenepo. Koita started on the bench at STVV.

In the Europe Play-offs, the match between Standard and Sint-Truiden was scheduled. Standard went looking for their first win after four draws in a row. STVV also looked for the three points after a one in nine.

The match started immediately with a chance for Standard. A back pass that was too short was kicked by Suzuki against a Standard player, the ball went just wide. Afterwards it didn’t take long for the first goal.

Thanks to Ogawa, STVV took the lead against Standard after a nice attack. Afterwards, Standard came up, but great opportunities were not forthcoming. STVV also played little on the counter.

The second half started again with Standard threatening. After a few minutes, Yeboah kicked a ball onto the post. The people of Liège continued to look for the equalizer in a half-full Sclessin.

They also found that equalizer via Panzo, who headed in Kawabe’s corner at the near post. Afterwards, both teams continue to create chances, but goals are not forthcoming.

In the end, Standard received a penalty thanks to a handball from Wolke Janssens, but the VAR decided not to put the ball on the spot. In the van they found that the push on Janssens was a violation, which corrected Boterberg’s decision.

Thus the match ended 1-1. With a draw, both teams will not make much progress in the rankings. Standard remains penultimate while STVV is eight points behind leader Ghent, who have played one match less.
