In the Bundesliga, champion Leverkusen escaped their first defeat by the smallest of margins. As has often been the case this season, coach Xabi Alonso’s team managed to escape in extra time, this time against Stuttgart.
Can Leverkusen manage to remain undefeated for an entire season? For the time being, although fire has been played with several times in recent weeks. It was only at the last minute that they could avoid defeat against West Ham (in the Europa League) and against Dortmund.
And it also seemed to happen against Stuttgart. The number 3 in the Bundesliga led 0-2 after just under an hour, thanks to goals from Führich and Undav (ex-Union).
Adli quickly signed for the tying goal, but then we had to wait. To wait long. The first defeat was really in the air, but again the brand new champion managed to escape miraculously.
In the 6th minute of extra time, Andrich made the BayArena explode with the 2-2. It was already Leverkusen’s 17th goal this season after minute 89. Xabi Alonso’s team can now boast an unbeaten run of 46 games.
