Boxing legend Mike Tyson (58) admits that he is ‘terrified’ about the fight with influencer Jake Paul. That will take place on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

“I’m terrified,” said Tyson, who has achieved just about everything a boxer can achieve in the sport. This is in stark contrast to Paul. The 27-year-old American, friend of skater Jutta Leerdam, has only been in the boxing ring ten times.
“I have a strange personality, but I don’t think it’s strange. Whatever I’m afraid of, I’ll do it,” Tyson said on Fox News. “I was afraid of the fight with Roy (Jones Jr. in 2020, ed.). I was 50 kilograms overweight at the time. I was 53 or 54 years old and said, ‘Let’s do it.’ I face everything I fear. That’s my personality. Right now I’m terrified. I have always believed that setbacks and nerves more or less catapulted me to success. If I didn’t have these feelings, I wouldn’t be fighting this battle. I have to have these feelings to fight. If I don’t have that, I would never enter the ring.”

“Invincible”
However, Tyson knows that the nerves will go away. “The closer the fight gets, the less nervous I get because it’s becoming a reality. And in reality, I am invincible.”
According to Tyson, Paul has come a long way since becoming a star on YouTube. “I saw a video of him doing strange dances at the age of 16. That’s not the man I’m going to fight, I thought. This man is going to attack, he’s going to try to hurt me, which is what I’m used to, and he’s going to be sorely mistaken. The rules will be real boxing rules, even if this is called an exhibition. This is a real fight.”
