Although the title battle is still going at full speed, the sporting management of RSC Anderlecht is also busy preparing for the coming season. This will undoubtedly also include looking at which boys from the RSCA Futures can make the step to the first team. However, one player is no longer counted on.

The Purple & White is having a strong season and is competing for the national title for the first time since 2017. This is largely due to the strong injection of quality that was implemented during the summer transfer period. But several players from our own youth academy also played their part in the success.

At the back, for example, Zeno Debast is having a strong season alongside Jan Vertonghen. Killian Sardella has gone from pariah to crowd favorite. Théo Leoni continues to confirm in midfield and Mario Stroeykens has completely exploded. Unlucky players Yari Verschaeren and Francis Amuzu also contributed.

Old acquaintance Riemer

The flow from the promises remains very important for the record champion. But not all youngsters appear to be suitable for taking this step. So the purple-white story is over for Henrik Bellman. The Swedish midfielder announces his retirement from Anderlecht via his Instagram page.

Bellman was acquired on a free transfer at the beginning of 2023. Not coincidentally: at the time he had already worked with coach Brian Riemer at the reserves of FC Copenhagen. The Swede then played several matches at the RSCA Futures and made the match selection for the first team several times, until a serious injury ended his season.

Final departure

What followed was a major operation and he has not played for RSCA since. That will not happen again in the future. Bellman announced via Instagram that he is finally saying goodbye. “It was a great pleasure and a great honor every time I was able to put on the purple shirt. I was welcomed with open arms by the Sporting family, who made me feel like I was one of them. I will never forget that,” it sounds, among other things.
