A young supporter of FC Barcelona will think twice in the future before throwing accusations at a player of the club again. Iñigo Martínez, 32-year-old defender of Barça, recently made it very clear to the boy that there are limits to everything.

Images circulating on social media show Martínez leaving his black Range Rover in the middle of the road and approaching a group of fans. Some ‘fans’ of Barça treated the Basque with some reproaches near the training center of the Spanish top club and he did not like that.

Martínez therefore started to lecture the boys in question – he even stood nose to nose with one of them. “This is the last time you called me an idiot. The last time, eh! The last time you insulted me! And that also applies to your friend,” Martínez snapped at him, after which the 21-time Spanish international got back into his SUV.

Martínez is in his first season at FC Barcelona. He moved from Athletic Bilbao on a free transfer last summer. He is not an undisputed starting player, but last weekend he played the entire match against Las Palmas. Barça won by the smallest margin after a goal from Raphinha on the hour mark.

Umtiti preceded him

Martínez is not the first Barça player to confront the fans in such a way. In 2021, Samuel Umtiti did the same, after some pushy selfie hunters stopped his car and even jumped on his hood. The Frenchman first drove a little further, to then teach the men a lesson in respect. “Come here. Do you know what respect is? Do you know that word and do you know what it means? Do you pay the costs for the car?”, Umtiti asked one of the guys (see video below).

The defender, who scored the decisive goal against the Red Devils in the 2018 World Cup in the semi-finals, is now on Lille’s payroll.
