As you know, Easter is the time of resurrections. That of cyclist Wout van Aert still has a long way to go, but who knows, it may have already been started.

His team management announced on Sunday that Wout van Aert has also returned home after his hospitalization as a result of the crash in Dwars door Vlaanderen. This could also be deduced from a post by Van Aert himself on his Instagram page.

FRIES AT THE HOUSE OF AERT

His Instagram Stories contains an image of the Easter meal at the Van Aert home. It included two bowls of fries: a meal like that doesn’t get much more Belgian. Mayonnaise was also provided for sauce lovers.

In short: it was a meal that would otherwise not have been on the table. Perhaps for his wife and children, but certainly not for the cyclist himself. A driver in the run-up to the most important appointments of his season will certainly pay attention to his nutrition during that period.

WOUT VAN AERT NEEDS TO REHABILITATE

That is less necessary now, in that area Wout van Aert can let himself go for a while. He can now enjoy the little things in life, now that the coming weeks will be a life without cycling races. First, due attention must be paid to his rehabilitation.

It is not known whether Van Aert also watched the Tour of Flanders on Sunday. Tiesj Benoot did say before the start of the Tour that he thought Van Aert would support his teammates from Visma-Lease a Bike.
