Tech giant Apple has launched four new models of the iPad. For example, there will be a larger 13-inch version of the iPad Air, in addition to a refreshed version of the existing model with an 11-inch screen. The two models of the advanced iPad Pro also received a brand new screen and, for the first time, the M4 processor. CEO Tim Cook calls today “the biggest day for iPad since the first model was announced.”

Here’s what’s new about the iPad Air
Apple has adjusted a few things to the design of the iPad Air. For example, the selfie camera has been moved to the long side of the device. If you use the iPad Air with a keyboard, the camera is in the same place as the webcam of a classic laptop.
The iPad Air now contains an M2 processor, which we have already seen in various Apple MacBooks and iPads Pro. Compared to the previous iPad Air, the new model is 50 percent faster.
The 11-inch and 13-inch models of the iPad Air will be available in four different colors: blue, purple, gray and gold. In Europe the prices are 719 and 889 euros respectively. Sales start on May 15.

The iPad Pro also has models with a screen size of 11 and 13 inches. That’s where the similarities with the iPad Air end. These tablets are designed to be used as laptops.
This can be seen in the choice of processor. Apple is introducing the new M4 processor into the iPad Pro for the first time. Previous processors in that series were always first launched in the MacBook. Thanks to the M4, the iPad Pro is four times faster than the previous model.
Despite all that computing power, the new iPad Pro is thinner. According to Apple, this is the thinnest product the tech giant has ever put on the market. The model with an 11-inch screen is 5.3 millimeters thick. The 13-inch model is 5.1 millimeters thick. That is thinner than two half-euro coins stacked on top of each other.
The iPad’s screen uses OLED technology for the first time. That type of display has been used for several years on iPhones and other smartphones. OLED can make the screen a lot brighter. That should help keep everything readable in direct sunlight. At the same time, colors are displayed better and black is ‘blacker’. The camera has also changed position on the iPads Pro.
Apple has also introduced new accessories. The keyboard should provide an experience that the company believes is comparable to that of a MacBook. The cost is 349 euros for the model that is compatible with the 11-inch screen. The larger one will cost 399 euros. There’s a new stylus, designed for cartoonists and graphic designers. The Apple Pencil Pro will cost 149 euros.
The model with an 11-inch screen has a suggested retail price of 1,219 euros. The larger model with a 13-inch screen will cost 1,569 euros. Both tablets will be available in stores from May 15.
Apple also implemented a price reduction. For example, the basic model of the iPad will now cost 439 euros. That tablet originally came on the market in 2022 for 589 euros.
