In the Dutch Eredivisie, the championship seems as good as won for PSV. The Eindhoven team won on Thursday evening with a comfortable 0-8 score over SC Heerenveen after, among other things, a goal from Johan Bakayoko. If Feyenoord loses points later in the evening, the title is also mathematically won.

PSV already claimed second place and the Dutch Cup last season. Nevertheless, coach Ruud van Nistelrooij decided to leave due to internal struggles. But in the end, these developments turned out very well for the people of Eindhoven.

The Peter Bosz effect

Peter Bosz was brought back to the Netherlands as his successor. That turned out to be an excellent choice. With the help of several top signings from the summer, Bosz managed to mold a team that not only plays attractive football, but also achieved great results.

PSV, for example, hibernated in the Champions League. However, especially in their own Eredivisie, there was no limit for the Eindhoven team. The first loss of points in the competition only occurred at the end of January. And after 31 matches there is still only one defeat on the counter.

Massacre in Friesland

The title has been in sight for some time now. However, the final decision could also be made on Thursday evening. To achieve this, PSV, when visiting Heerenveen, had to do better than pursuer Feyenoord, which will cross swords with Go Ahead Eagles later in the evening. And the leader himself did what had to be done.

In this way, the slain champion left no stone unturned by the Frisians. Through Til and Tilmann it was already 0-3 after less than fifteen minutes of play. At halftime, that gap had widened further to 0-5. And in the second half the visitors continued their momentum.

Important Bakayoko

Ultimately, the match ended with a historic 0-8 score. Bakayoko also scored his goal, with 11 competition goals and 9 assists, the Red Devil has a significant share in the upcoming national title. In the final phase, the match had to be stopped briefly after visiting fans set off smoke bombs. But in the end the match was played out. PSV and its supporters can now sit in a chair and watch how Feyenoord fares, in the best case scenario the champions party can kick off later in the evening.
