On Sunday, from 1 to 6 pm, the second edition of the Kunstenmarkt will take place between the Braembib and Sint-Cordulakerk. The KUS pastry is also officially presented and sold on that occasion.

After last year’s arrival, the organizers – Schotense amateur artists (KUS) with the support of the municipality – have further expanded their market.

“This time we will set up fifty instead of 33 stalls and they will all be filled by artists, craftsmen, associations and so on. Patty Fleur and the choir Alouette sing and Paul Vekemans tells. Variety is an asset: almost all art disciplines are represented. We now use the entire lawn, along both sides of the church.”

One of the most visited stands may well be that of Bakkerij De Wit. There, baker Jan Haemels and his pastry chef Joyce Neys present the KUS pastry: a fruity cake in the shape of two full velvet pink lips. The duo thus won a competition from Kunst Uit Schoten (KUS), the organizers of the Kunstenmarkt.

“Smooth, crispy and addictively delicious”, the people who ordered the striking cake sound very enthusiastic about the new regional product. The KUS cake will be available in various sizes. (yes)
