This summer, Belgium will have a streaming service richer. HBO Max will be launched in our country on July 1. It doesn’t just come with prestigious fiction series. An overview.
What will there be to see?
HBO Max brings series such as Game of thrones and House of the dragon, Westworld, The wire, Sex and the city and films from Warner Bros such as all DC superheroes (Aquaman, Batman, The Flashetc.) or Barbie. Real-life entertainment from Discovery and all international sports broadcasts in a Eurosport premium subscription, such as the Paris Olympics, will also be shown.
What does that cost?
The cheapest subscription is available for 5.99 euros per month. You have to include advertising there. Users can stream on two devices simultaneously, in Full HD resolution.
A standard subscription costs 9.99 euros per month. There you can also stream on two devices simultaneously in Full HD without advertisements. Up to thirty downloads are also possible to view content offline.
The premium subscription costs 13.99 euros per month. This means you can stream on four devices simultaneously, in Full HD or 4k resolution with Dolby Atmos sound if available. This plan allows you to view up to 100 downloads offline. For comparison, the most expensive Netflix subscription costs you 17.99 euros, a standard subscription already 13.49 euros.
When will HBO Max start?
July 1, 2024. From June 11, Belgian customers can access the basic plan with advertising free of charge during the first fourteen days of their subscription. Certain titles will only be available in English and French. The complete catalog in Dutch and French will be available from July. Telenet customers will have access to the app soon after launch.
Another extra
Anyone who subscribes to the sport must purchase an additional Sport Add-on. This includes reporting on major international and European sports. Such an add-on costs another five euros per month. Although the offer differs per country depending on the rights. For example, the spring classics in cycling are largely in the hands of VRT. The Olympic Games in Paris would be available for every subscription.(eadp)
