Christel Geltmeyer is now the first point of contact for Voka members in the Aalst region. As regional director, she will replace her colleague Jan Van Gyseghem, who started in this role in 1987.

Christel Geltmeyer has been regional director of Voka Dendermonde since 1999 and is now expanding her contacts to the southern Dender region: the Aalst-Ninove-Zottegem-Geraardsbergen region.

“At Voka East Flanders, the regional directors are the spearheads in the relationship with member companies,” says Geert Moerman, managing director of Voka East Flanders. “They keep their finger on the pulse of companies, listen to their concerns and try to assist them every day in answering questions and meeting their needs. The regional directors know the political and economic ins and outs of the region inside and out. They maintain regular contacts with all important stakeholders: policy makers, administrations, education. They are also a trusted Voka spokesperson on local economic topics.”

Over the past two years, Jan gradually introduced his colleague Christel to a number of companies in Aalst, which he followed closely for more than three decades. Jan will retire in May 2025, but will continue to work at Voka East Flanders until then.
