Tips for those who prefer to party

Vooruit.brussels’ One Festival starts at 2:15 PM with DJ Lalla Unicorn and a ‘TikTok disco party’ for children and teenagers. Subsequently, the artists Kunde, Isolde Lasoen, BWANA, the Green Crow Collective and Reinel Bakole are programmed. O’Simmie, a much sought-after DJ in Brussels, ends the day.

The Labor Festival of the socialist unions FGTB and ABVV starts a little later on the Kunstberg. The opening concert at 3:45 PM will be provided by Turkish Kebap, a newly founded Brussels band that won the Belgian Worldwide Music Network Award in 2023. Not to be missed are the performances of Témé Tan and DJ Rokia Bamba, who, together with Badi, always gets her activist audience dancing.

Tips for people with children

On the ‘red’ holiday there is also plenty to do for parents with children who want to enjoy a day off. In addition to DJ Lalla Unicorn’s performance at the One Festival, which we mentioned earlier, the Brussels Museum for Industry and Labor in Molenbeek is also presenting a program for families. For example, you can have brunch there while the children play on the bouncy castle or play games. Also on the programme: a percussion and capoeira workshop, yoga, a concert and bicycle repairs all afternoon. Finally, various cycling tours are organised.

Organizers in the rest of the city have also thought about children. There is a flea market with bouncy castles on Sint-Gillisvoorplein. Further on, in Ixelles, a second flea market is planned on Pleinlaan. The organizer also promises entertainment for their children, in addition to snacks and drinks for the second-hand treasure hunters.
