Steven Arrazola de Oñate draws the list for the new party of Els Ampe (ex-Open VLD) in Flemish Brabant. This makes him the second corona skeptic to become party leader.
The new party Voor U has once again appointed a figurehead of the corona counter-movement as its party leader. After Michael Verstraeten in East Flanders, Steven Arrazola de Oñate is now running for the Flemish Parliament in Flemish Brabant.
Voor U is the party that Flemish Member of Parliament Els Ampe founded after she was expelled from Open VLD. Ivan Sabbe (ex-Lijst Dedecker) and Nelly Maes (ex-VU), among others, have committed themselves to the party.

Arrazola de Oñate was chairman of the local Open VLD chapter in Rotselaar until 2021. During the corona crisis, he presented himself as a radical opponent of the policy being pursued. He was also behind several anti-vax organizations.
At Voor U he meets the Ghent lawyer Michael Verstraeten again. He was also one of the faces of the counter-movement during the corona crisis. In the aftermath of the corona crisis, they founded the Freedom party together, but Arrazola de Oñate broke away. Verstraeten continued alone and now brings his party under the banner of Voor U. (pl)
