It’s not a sexy subject, but as soon as you have problems with your bowel movements, it is very annoying. With these tips you can keep your bowel movements healthy.
How do you get your bowel movements back to normal and how do you prevent it blockage? These tips will make it easier for you to go to the toilet from now on. Does it not solve your problem, or do you find blood in your stool? Always visit your GP for examination and advice.
1. Avoid stress
Stress can affect your intestines, resulting in constipation. Do yoga, meditate or walk daily to reduce your stress level. You will soon notice that it also affects you bowel movements.
2. Don’t postpone going to the toilet
Set to it toilet don’t go out. Go to the bathroom as soon as you feel the urge. If you hold in stool, your body removes moisture from it and thickens it further.
3. Eat high in fiber
Eat more fibres, which are found in beans and brown bread, among other things. But also in leafy vegetables, whole grain products, seeds, nuts, kernels and oatmeal. And in fruit of course.
4. Eat healthy
Healthy food is in any case very important for your bowel movements. Just like drinking enough. It keeps the contents of your intestines flexible and makes bowel movements easier.
5. Take your time
Take the time to go to the bathroom. Plan on taking an extra ten minutes in the morning to get to it toilet to go, preferably after breakfast. This is the moment when your bowel movements start and you literally relieve your body. Also make sure you go to the toilet on time.
6. Exercise more
To keep your bowel movements going, it is important to get enough exercise. That ensures that you intestines are encouraged to stay active and keep bowel movements going. For example, take the stairs more often or cycle to work. An active lifestyle also means taking the stairs more often instead of the escalator or elevator.
7. Drink enough water
Brew two decanters in the morning water on your desk or counter and drink it during the day. Even if you think you drink enough water, you will still be surprised how much water 1.5 to 2 liters per day actually is.
