showbizIn his own program ‘De Bauers’, singer Frans Bauer (50) gives an insight into his life. In the last episode broadcast, he visits a dietician and gives viewers a glimpse into his eating habits. According to the singer, his wife Mariska is responsible for his poor eating behavior.

When Frans Bauer is measured at the dietitian, it turns out that he has shrunk by two centimeters. “Would that be because of the weight I’m carrying?” the singer says jokingly. But when he steps on the scale, he is still shocked. “111 kilograms. That has gotten completely out of hand. Am I obese or not?” Bauer wonders. The dietitian unfortunately has to admit that his BMI of 34.4 is in the obesity zone.

If the doctor wants to obtain further information about Frans’ eating habits, a fairly long list follows. “I eat bread in the morning. That can be brown bread, but preferably white. I regularly eat a piece of liverwurst in between meals. I also sometimes do fried eggs in the morning. With bread and bacon,” and so on. The culprit according to Bauer? His wife Mariska. “It’s all your fault,” the singer says upon returning home. “Yes, hello, who will shove it all in your mouth?” Mariska asks him the question. “Who buys groceries here?” Frans responds. To which Mariska goes one step further: “Who will take it out of the closet?”

Frans Bauer is currently 30 kilos overweight. “I just have to change my entire lifestyle.” But he is determined to do something about it.
