Dutch singer Maaike Ouboter (32), known for the song ‘That I miss you’, and her boyfriend Karel have become the parents of a little boy. The couple announced this via Instagram: “He was already ready.”
On March 5, Ouboter announced her maternity leave. A day later the time had suddenly come: her son Maas was born. Unexpected, because she was due before Easter. “Today I was actually due,” the singer from Gouda wrote on Instagram yesterday, “but four weeks ago he was completely ready.”
Now it is clearly time for the young couple to enjoy themselves. “We can’t stop looking at him and hugging him. How wonderful to experience this – we are both healthy. Our world is very small for a while and we enjoy that immensely. Long live life.”

Ouboter came to know Flanders and the Netherlands in 2013 through her participation in the program ‘The best singer-songwriter in the Netherlands’. With her self-written song ‘That I miss you’, which is about the death of her parents, she silenced many living rooms and scored a number 1 hit in the Netherlands and Flanders.
