The Dutch shoe store Sacha almost completely disappears from the shopping street. Various Dutch media reported this on Tuesday, after a report from Heart of the Netherlands. The retail chain, a subsidiary of the Termeer Group, has announced that it will close a large number of its physical stores. The Antwerp branch has announced that it will remain open.

According to Sacha’s website, the chain has 32 physical stores, of which 28 in the Netherlands, 3 in Belgium and 1 in Luxembourg. The Belgian stores are located in Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent. In 2020, the Belgian branch with seventeen stores went bankrupt, reports Het Parool. There were now three physical stores in our country again and Sacha was also active online.

The shoe chain now continues almost entirely online, says marketing director Cecile Termeer Heart of the Netherlands know. A limited number of physical stores will continue to exist, but which stores exactly are not yet known. The company is still in the decision-making process. There is good news to report for the Antwerp store on Lombardenvest: the branch has announced that the branch will remain open.

The shoe chain’s staff will not end up on the street, Termeer Groep promises. The employees would be transferred to other company chains, such as Sissy-Boy or Manfield. According to a spokesperson, this concerns a “new strategic direction”.
