The parties involved are currently not very forthcoming with sharing information and do not yet want to confirm the exact location of the complex, but judging by the impressions it will be located on a vacant lot on the Holterbergweg or on the site of the Princess Margriet Tower . The building next to the latter tower is currently being redeveloped into the highest residential tower in Amsterdam, designed by ZZDP Architects.
The new complex consists of two high volumes and a plinth continuous on one side, which surrounds a raised courtyard. The plinth will house commercial spaces and various food and beverage outlets. The homes are being realized according to a co-living concept, the design of the offices strives for ‘high quality, comfort and sustainability that was not previously available at this level in Amsterdam South East’, as the parties involved put it.
CBRE Development Management guided the municipality of Amsterdam and KanAm over the past two years in the run-up to the now signed agreement letter. More details about the project will be shared at a later date, a CBRE spokeswoman said. The complex is expected to be completed in 2029, the spokesperson tells Architectenweb.
