Hook of Holland 09.05.2024 – Today is Ascension Day, when the beach season in Hoek van Holland kicks off in a festive way, as usual.
Alderman Robert Simons (including Economy) has the honor of officially opening the beach season on this day. Before the official part, the councilor will take a look at the event site and talk to the organizers of two major music festivals and beach entrepreneurs. On Wednesday people were still busy setting up activities on site.
The official part will follow at 10:30 am. The councilor will give a speech and, together with Dirk van Oosten of the Lifeguard, festively unveil a new beach flag.
The new city map Hoek van Holland will also be presented by Rotterdam Tourist Information. The festive opening is organized by the Municipality of Rotterdam in collaboration with the Rotterdam Beach Foundation, Rotterdam Festivals and beach entrepreneurs.
Then the festivities start, attracting tens of thousands of people. The Strandweer.nu webcam will be there live in a special tour, so that you can follow all the happenings closely. The party can be seen live here.
