Johan Bakayoko continues to make the necessary progress. Good for PSV on a sporting level, but also for the club’s wallet.

PSV Eindhoven is already busy preparing for next season. General manager Marcel Brands told us something about this in the television program Goedemorgen Eredivisie.

The team is looking for some reinforcements, but is also trying to keep players on board for longer. Who may not be able to keep this summer is Red Devil Johan Bakayoko. Yet the Dutch do not want to just let him leave.

More than 35 million euros

Last summer there was an offer of 35 million euros on the table from Brentford, but the transfer ultimately fell through. Brands is already clear that teams that want our compatriot will have to put more money on the table.

“It has not become cheaper, that is clear,” Brands immediately states when Bakayoko’s name is mentioned. “Bakayoko is no longer for sale for 35 million.”

Transfermarkt currently estimates Bakayoko’s market value at 40 million euros. He is under contract in Eindhoven until the summer of 2026. So it will almost certainly take more than 40 million euros to steal Bakayoko from the Eredivisie.
